Haba – yes it is my money

Haba – yes it is my money.
Welcome to Lagos Live, not sure why I wanted to start writing all over again, but hey I guess we will find out together.
Hmm let me say this, I bought the aso-ebi for a high society wedding to take place this Saturday on the Island oh. That how first of all, some other people were selling the same aso-ebi for 12,000 Naira, and the bride’s family decided to sell it for 15,000. I was a bit upset initially, but I said ok, I have known this babe for donkey years; maybe it is the right thing to do to support her you know. I paid my 15k naira and moved along, if I say paying $100 for table cloth lace didn’t pain me, it’s a lie.
I moved forward, and was thinking I wanted to kill the aso-ebi as in make it look bad. I want to look like a “bad girl” that day since I rarely step out to such events. Well to cut a long story short, I decided to use one of the budding designer aka tailor that can speak phonetics to sew sha, cos the last local tailor gave me a bad zipper and charged me 8k naira to sew 3k naira Ankara. So I got to phonetic tailor ahem abi na designer, and next thing you know she said 15k naira. I was like hmm, $200 to go to one wedding?
Ok so we haven’t added the cost of fabulous hair, and if u are one of those with faces where u have to get one of Banke Meshida’s girls to do ur face before every big outing that is 10k naira extra.
What gives? Where to draw the line. Of course at this point, I will just go to the wedding without a gift, and make sure I eat enuff small chops and ogle fine young men. I mean Yoruba culture costs an average of 40k naira per weekend on the low end and if you party a lot, multiply that by 52 weeks. Let me get my calculator - that’s a whopping 2 mil naira oh. God of mercy give us grace.
